Update win 10 from win 7.
Two days ago I downloaded and updated win 7 to win 10. The only reason I did was due to reports of how good win 10 had gotten. This was done on an AMD 8120, 8 core processor, 12 gig DDR3, 1 gig Nvidia, video card, and a Samsung 250 gig SSD. Process was very slow, in the 3 hour range to complete. during the install many updates were installed. After completing, I had to restart the computer. This is where the problems started. The new install would not complete a restart. Monitor blanked out, but the computer kept running. I gave it about 7 minutes and hit the button to turn it off. On the reboot, I was surprised at the speed it took to load win 10. Time was around 15 seconds. I've never had any version of windows boot that fast. Next problem was no internet. I might add that later on when I hit the shutdown link the screen showed the message, Do Not Turn Off Your Computer, as though it was downloading updates. But, how can this be when the internet isn't working? After about 20 minutes it said restarting, but of course it won't restart, so I had to manually shut it off. I checked to see if the adapter was found and it said it was operating normally. I downloaded the adapter's driver for win 10, on another computer. Installed it on the new install, but it made no difference. Got on another computer and Googled the problem, and apparently it is a widespread problem with my Realtek adapter.Looks like Microsoft failed to check their update out to make sure it worked. Typical. Found a lot of suggestions to try, but none of them worked. So, I now have a hard drive with an operating system on it which I am unable to use, because of all the errors. No internet connection, unable to shut it down, and unable to restart. These are the only problems I have found so far, but knowing Microsoft this is probably the tip of the iceberg. Looks like I will be better off reverting back to win 7. Thank God I don't have to depend on windows. I only use it for games for the grandkids and great grandkids. Linux Mint is my primary operating system, because it just works. No problems, and no surprises. Windows is unstable, unreliable, insecure, and extremely high maintenance. You MUST have antivirus, defragger, registry cleaner, spyware remover, adware remover, malware remover, and even with all that you can still get a virus, adware, malware, and many other problems.
I just tried to uninstall the internet adapter from the system, and it started, but 10 minutes later it was still trying, and failing. There are two adapters listed and neither of them can be uninstalled, and it won't update the driver. First time I logged in to this partition today there was an internet connection, and it downloaded some updates, so it appears this is a problem with Windows 10. I have several drives connected to this computer and the internet works fine on everything but windows 10. Only solution I can see now is to restore win 7, or just delete windows from the drive, which will probably be the wiser solution. This ordeal has only reinforced my conclusion about the windows OS. It truly is a USELESS.....FRAGMENT OF FECAL MATERIAL. That can be paraphrased.
Ran into another problem on my main computer, with win 10. This computer has an AMD 8350, 8 core processor, 16 gig DDR3, 2 gig video card, 500 gig HD, and a 750 watt power supply. It was built in 2014. I let it update to the creator's update, and again it was a VERY slow install. After it installed, and configured the update for the first time, it got to 30%, and rebooted. Started doing the second part of configuring and it got to 73% and the screen went black for about 20 seconds, then to blue with a message that a critical error had occurred. Rebooted and got nothing. Windows had self destructed. Deleted the windows partition and installed Ubuntu. I now have only one computer left with a Windows 10 partition, and I only use it for Quicken and the internet is disabled, so as to avoid ANY updates. You would think that Microsoft would have made an improvement to their sorry OS, but they appear to keep getting worse and worse. This is, without a doubt, the most useless operating system I have ever used. Thank God for Linux.

Windows 7 updates.
I re-installed Windows 7 on my laptop after it failed to update to Windows 10, 3 times.Laptop has a quad core processor, and 8 gig of ram. I put in a Samsung 250 gig SSD, and installed win7 OEM and Linux Mint 17.3. It would never get any updates. So, I started searching for a solution. Found a lot of suggestions to try, but none of them worked. Spent about 3 whole days looking. I only use it for games, and it can't even do that reliably, but being connected to the internet I wanted it to be up to date. Then on June 9, 2016, I installed a fix that actually worked. It downloaded 2 updates, and I installed them successfully. Then came 13 more and they were installed successfully. Then came 178, downloaded, and installed. They started configuring on shut down, and then on reboot they started finishing configuring. That's when it stopped. Message came up, after about 30 minutes, and said windows could not configure the updates and was reverting, removing the updates. Total time spent was 4 hours and 15 minutes. one would think that after 30+ years Microsoft would have a workable OS. I have been using Linux since 2001, and have NEVER had a surprise, It just works, flawlessly. Windows is a high maintenance OS. You have to have anti-virus, registry cleaner, adware remover, malware remover, and a defragger, and the update system is a disaster. It starts out fairly fast, but with use it starts to slow down. Boot time for win 7 on this computer runs from 30 to 60 seconds. Linux is consistently under 10 seconds, and is ready for use immediately. The hard drive light will stay on for 4 to 5 minutes after windows boots, shut down is slow, applications start slow, and do not get any quicker. There is absolutely nothing fast about Windows, and in my opinion it is a terrible operating system. I have had a computer in the house since January of 1981, Started with Commodores, got my first windows computer in 1991, and switched to Linux in 2001.

Windows 10 update.
I have three desktops, and one laptop, that I use fairly frequently. The main one has an AMD 8120, 8 core processor, 8 gig DDR3, 1 meg video card, and a 500 gig HD. It runs Linux Mint 17.2, Peppermint Linux 5, and win 7. I got a notice that windows was ready to install the update to win 10. On the first reboot it booted into GRUB rescue, so it took about eight commands, using Mint Linux to get it back up, and booting. Installation continued and finished in about 2.5 hours. The second machine has an AMD 8350, eight core processor, 16 gig DDR3, 2 meg video card, a 640 gig HD, and a 500 gig HD. It runs win 8.1, Linux Mint 17.2, Peppermint Linux 4, and PCLOS. The update came in for win 10 and it installed without a hitch, and only took about 1.5 hours. Yesterday, Aug. 7. the notice came in to my laptop, so I started the update. It got to 30% and rebooted, and froze. I gave it ten minutes before doing a hard reset. When it booted up again it started where it left off and made it to 40% and froze up again. Did another hard reset and it started the install again, but it never made it off 40%, and froze up again. I did another hard reset, and this time it came up and said it was reverting back to the original version, and the update had failed. After it had finished and win 7 was running I checked the updates. There was an optional update for the printer so I ran that one. Update failed. Checked the error code and finally got it rectified, and ran the printer update again, and this time it took it. But, on the reboot, a message popped up and said the update program was broken. I tried the update to win 10 and it failed again at 40%. The laptop has an AMD quad core processor with 8 gig of ram, and a 640 gig HD, It runs Linux Mint 17.2, PCLOS Full Monty, and win 7. I guess I'm lucky to have 2 of them update, as my expectations from Microsoft is very low. I know windows is going to mess up, I just don't know when. Windows being a high maintenance OS, it requires a lot of attention. Anti Virus, adware remover, malware remover, registry cleaner, disk defragmenter,, and even with all that you will still have problems. I only use windows for games. The grandkids, and the great grandkids like to play games, and the main gripe I have is the you can be playing a game and all of a sudden the game has jumped to the taskbar, and a third party program has a popup message to update. a REAL OS would not let this happen. Even if you are doing something that should not be interrupted, it will happen. Boot time on windows is slow, starting applications is slow, the update system is a disaster, security is non-existent.

Carol's accident.
Carol has been fighting cancer since 2009. She was diagnosed in April of 09 with a lump in her left knee. She had a full knee replacement in May, and they told her if it came back it would hit the lung. A year later it did. She had the lower lobe removed, and then went 3 years cancer free. It came back in both lungs. One nodule was on the outside of the lung and the other spot was deep inside. They removed the on on the outside, and did radiation on the deep one. Then it showed up in her spine in 2014 in two places. They radiated one of them but the other messed up her stomach. Then in February of 2015 she tripped on an area rug and hurt her left knee, went to the doctor and he said there was a hairline fracture just below the glue joint of her implant. Told her to stay off of it. It never got better, just continued to get worse. Finally in may we went to the ER and they did scans up past the knee and discovered she had a fractured hip. They took her to Baylor Dallas by ambulance and she had a partial hip replacement. about a month later her right leg got to hurting her so bad she had to go back to Baylor Dallas and they put a gamma nail in her right hip.
I had developed a habit of praying for her every night, while laying in bed. One night I told God that he had put us together and would he please not separate us. I immediately felt my entire body get extremely warm, and I felt a calmness I had never felt before. I don't know if I heard the words or saw them, but the message was that everything was going to be okay. Now, I don't know what it means, but It's in God's hands. I still pray for her, but there is no worry, because God is taking care of us. I really don't know what I would do without God.
Carol passed away on November 27,2015, and on December 3, 2015 I went to bed but could not sleep. Her passing really tore me up. I got up and was upgrading a laptop and reading Dr. Charles Stanley's book of daily devotions for December. I got to one titled, " Peace Beyond Comprehension", all of a sudden I felt like something was lifted from my body. I now know what God meant when He said, " "Everything is going to be okay".

Windows 8.1
Our church uses a Sony HDR CX-430 video camera to record the services. I download the MP4 files to the computer in our sound booth. I then transfer them to a flash drive and bring them home to process and upload to our website. I built a special computer to do this. I run an MSI military class mobo, an AMD 8350 8 core processor, 16 gig of DDR3, and an Nvidia 2 gig video card. Plus I have cable internet, which is probably 20 to 30 times faster than our Verizon DSL connection at church. The camera records in 2 gig segments, which means after it records 2 gig it starts a new movie. Our preacher runs long, most of the time, so there are two movies which have to be stitched together into one. Sony provides a software program which will do this, if everything works right. Problem is Windows is seldom working right. All of a sudden the program will not display any videos at all. There was an update availabe so I started to do the update. It got to installing the update and up pops an error message that it can't continue due to an msi. file. I uninstall the entire program and download the latest version. It gets to 99% installed and quits again due to an msi. file. Windows is, without a doubt, the most useless fragment of fecal material on the face of planet earth. It is high maintenance, You have to have anti-virus, adware remover, malware remover, register cleaner, defrag program. The update process is horriffic. It takes a minimum of 3 to 5 minutes to boot, it freezes up, and if you are doing something that shouldn't be interrupted, here comes a third party program wanting to update. It even does it while playing games. I'm running into the same problems with Windows 8.1 that I had with Windows 3.0. Thirty years and it's still a piece of crap.
My main OS is Mint Linux. I only use windows for games and the Sony camera. Linux boots up, and is ready to use in around 20 seconds. Never locks up, do the updates and keep on trucking, no reboot or nothing. It does EVERYTHING faster than windows, and is more secure. It's even easier to use than windows, with all their tiles and those stupid little things that pop out of the side of the screen if you get too close. I welcome the day when Windows is an unpleasant memory here on earth.

Humor in the pulpit.
I expect the overuse of jokes in sermons is meant as a camouflage for the failure to provide anything of merit in them. If so, let the preacher take note: it doesn’t work.
The sermon which depends on a joke for its effectiveness is an insult to God, to the audience, and to one’s calling.
The pulpit is for the preaching of God’s Word, Law and Gospel. Anything that distracts from that shouldn’t be there.
The religious experience is largely bound up in the sermon. Most sermons can be edited down to under 10 minutes. Most the scrap material includes humor. People laugh and might remember the joke but it rarely contributes to edification. And don’t kid yourself, most people are not impressed. There is a hunger out there for conversations – dialog, not monologue – and real relationships. The reformers moved the pulpit in the center and our shift should be the other way: Ten minute message perhaps, with lots of conversation and activities that practice the Christian lifestyle in community – praying with others, listening to their stories, serving the community, etc.
I say this as one who loves a great story and enjoys being the one telling it.
I just think of what Christ did for me; brutalized and nailed to a cross. The lamb of God. When I go to Church I "need" to hear the truth without humor. I love wholesome humor but... when I present myself to my King on Sunday in corporate worship - I think some reverence is in order. Remember; this is what the holy spirit has done for me so this is the way I see it.
Our God certainly has a sense of humor. He created us in his own image, and he gave us the ability to laugh and to tell jokes, even to be silly. That said, I don't want my pastor to entertain me on Sunday morning. 1 Corinthians 13 doesn't say "love is patient, love is funny." Scripture doesn't preach winning people over with our clever anecdotes. It preaches the glorious and incomparable love of a risen Savior. I'm much more comforted knowing that my God is Sovereign, Gracious, Infinite, Merciful, than I am knowing he's amusing. I've heard pastors who use humor to shy away from the deeper truth of Scripture or to prove how relevant Scripture is. Our God doesn't need proof! He is always relevant! I'd much rather the Holy Spirit use my pastor's words to convict me and lead me back to grace than to keep me smiling. If our sermons never offend, we probably aren't telling people the whole truth.

8 core Linux box.
I decided to build one more computer to replace an aging quad core. Went to the local Fry's and picked up an MSI, military class mobo, an AMD 8350, 8 core processor, 16 gig DDR3, an Nvidia 2 gig video board, and I already had a 500 gig HD,and a box, and a DVD/CD burner. Windows 8.1 had already crapped out on the older machine, so I decided to see if it would work on this one. Got it installed and it seemed okay, put Mint Linux 17 on and then added PCLOS. I only use windows for games, as I don't trust it for anything online. So far the only problems has been with windows locking up, but then I don't expect it to work full time. I do a lot of video processing, and this machine is probably five times faster than my other 8 core box. At my age this will probably be the last machine I build, but with these specs it should outlast me.

Windows 8.1
Booted into Win 7 to check for updates last week, and lo and behold it had crapped out on me, after only 3 months. Would not boot, so I left it until Tuesday, May 13. I had picked up a copy of Win 8.1, since I had heard it was better than Win 8. I had planned on replacing Win 7 if it was truly trashed. I only use it for games so it isn't a big loss. Just for the heck of it I put in the Win 7 disk and tried the repair option, and it actually fixed it. This is the first time I've ever had repair do it's job. Anyhow, I figured I would go ahead and install Win 8.1 on the same hard drive. I have Peppermint Linux on a 128 gig SSD, and win 7, and win8.1 on a 500 gig regular HD. After the install I upgraded Peppermint to Peppermint 4, 64 bit. Rebooted to check out Win 8.1, and guess what? The Win 8.1 partition would not boot. I put in the disk and ran repair, but it said the partition was locked, and I would have to unlock it. I spent the rest of Tuesday, and most of Wednesday looking for answers, and nothing worked. So, it looks like I am going to have to delete the Win 8.1 partition, and install a Linux distro. I don't know what Microsoft has done to Win 8.1, but I'm not going to put up with this useless fragment of fecal material. I use Linux for all my work, email, and internet, as I don't trust Microsoft mail, IE,plus Linux is faster, safer, more secure, and easier to use. I do a lot of video processing which is why I built this machine. It has an MSI mobo, AMD 8120 8 core processor, 8 gig of DDR3, one gig Nvidia graphics card, HP wireless printer, 128 gig Samsung SSD, and a 500 gig HD. Peppermint 4 is on the SSD and boots up in 6 seconds. Guess I'll see if anyone at work wants the Win 8.1 disks. If Microsoft ever starts building vacuum cleaners, that will be the only product they have that don't suck.

Updating win 7.
Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014, I decided to boot into my windows partition on the computer in the bedroom. It is a home made unit, with an Antec box, 600 watt power supply, MSI FX motherboard, Amd FX 8120 8 core processor, one gig Nvidia video board, Samsung 128 Gig SSD, and a 500 gig Seagate hard drive. I have PCLOS, Win 7, and Mint 14 on it. Linux is my main OS, but I keep windows around for games. This unit had not been booted into the windows partition for several months, so I figured I would check for updates. There were 28 updates. I started installing about 3:10 pm. Well I leave for Church at 5:00 pm, and figured it would be done in plenty of time. Wrong! It had finished installing about 4:50 pm, and then on reboot it had to configure the updates, on shutdown. I just left it to do it's thing, and at 5:00 pm it was configuring on 32%. I got back at 8:00 pm, and the computer had shut down, so I booted back into the windows partition and it started to finish configuring the updates. This took about 15+ minutes. Total time to install 28 updates was 1 our, and 50 minutes that I know of, and however long it took to configure the updates on shutdown. This is the most ridiculous update system I have ever seen. Most products improve with age, as changes are made to better the product. Apparently Microsoft has never heard of this process, they tend to go backwards, and do everything they can to make it worse. No wonder they are losing market share to REAL operating systems. If Microsoft ever decides to build vacuum cleaners, it will be the only product they have that don't suck!

Cable internet speed.
I'm running cable for internet access, and for the last 6 months, or so, it has been extremely slow. I get a lot of emails in the form of newsletters, with links to the full stories. When I would click on a link sometimes it would take 7 minutes or more to load the entire page. I called the local cable company several times and they would suggest things to try to get more speed, but nothing worked. Then on Thursday, October 3rd, I called again. Talked to a young man and he suggested i do a speed test. I did, and it showed 11.15 meg down, and 2.09 meg up. He said the down speed was horrendous, that it should be 25. I then told him I was running Linux, not windows, so he suggested I try windows. I have a homebuilt computer with an MSI 64 bit, mobo, 16 gig of DDR3, a 1.5 terrabyte hard drive, an Nvidia 8400 512 meg video card, and an AMD 640 quad core processor. I have Win XP, Win 7, Peppermint Linux 4, and Mint Linux 15 on the hard drive. I opened Windows 7 and ran the speed test again. This time I got 6.05 meg down, and 1.7 meg up. He couldn't believe it. I explained to him that everything about linux is faster than windows. Anyway, he transferred to another guy and he was of no use either. He transferred me to paid support and this gentleman told me they could send someone out, but I would have to pay, and I told him I had already paid enough. I am paying for the Turbo tier, and am getting dial up speeds. Told him I would seek an alternative ISP. Well, Thursday afternoon I mysteriously started getting decent speed. Don't know what happened but the pages were popping in seconds instead of minutes. And so far it has held. Can't imagine what happened, because I have changed nothing here. but this more like what I expected of cable.

Teacher from Mo. tells Obama.
A TEACHER FROM THE GREAT STATE OF MISSOURI WILL LOSE HER JOB FOR STANDING UP FOR ALL OF US.
Give this teacher and true Americans a standing ovation. This 4th grade teacher has said it all, and she was brave
enough to attach her name to it.

Mr. Obama:
I have had it with you and your administration, sir. Your
conduct on your recent trip overseas has convinced me that you are not
an adequate representative of the United States of America collectively
or of me personally.
You are so obsessed with appeasing the Europeans and the Muslim world
that you have abdicated the responsibilities of the President of the
United States of America . You are responsible to the citizens of the
United States . You are not responsible to the peoples of any other
country on earth.
I personally resent that you go around the world apologizing for the
United States telling Europeans that we are arrogant and do not care
about their status in the world. Sir, what do you think the First
World War and the Second World War were all about if not the
consideration of the peoples of Europe ? Are you brain dead? What
do you think the Marshall Plan was all about? Do you not understand or
know the history of the 20th century?
Where do you get off telling a Muslim country that the United
States does not consider itself a Christian country? Have you not
read the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution of the United
States? This country was founded on Judeo-Christian ethics and the
principles governing this country, at least until you came along, come
directly from this heritage. Do you not understand this?
Your bowing to the king of Saudi Arabia is an affront to all
Americans. Our President does not bow down to anyone, let alone the
king of Saudi Arabia ..... You didn't show Great Britain, our best and
one of our oldest allies, the respect they deserve yet you bow down to
the king of Saudi Arabia .. How dare you, sir! How dare you!
You can't find the time to visit the graves of our greatest generation
because you don't want to offend the Germans but make time to visit a
mosque in Turkey ...... You offended our dead and every veteran
when you give the Germans more respect than the people who saved the
German people from themselves. What's the matter with you? I am
convinced that you and the members of your administration have the
historical and intellectual depth of a mud puddle and should be
ashamed of yourselves, all of you.
You are so self-righteously offended by the big bankers and the
American automobile manufacturers yet do nothing about the real
thieves in this situation, Mr. Dodd, Mr. Frank, Franklin Raines, Jamie
Gorelic, the Fannie Mae bonuses, and the Freddie Mac bonuses. What do
you intend to do about them? Anything? I seriously doubt it.
What about the U.S. House members passing out $9.1 million in bonuses
to their staff members on top of the $2.5 million in automatic pay
raises that lawmakers gave themselves? I understand the average House
aide got a 17% bonus. I took a 5% cut in my pay to save jobs with my
employer. You haven't said anything about that. Who authorized that?
I surely didn't!
Executives at Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac will be receiving $210 million
in bonuses over an eighteen-month period, that's $45 million more than
the AIG bonuses. In fact, Fannie and Freddie executives have already
been awarded $51 million - not a bad take. Who authorized that and why
haven't you expressed your outrage at this group who are largely
responsible for the economic mess we have right now?
I resent that you take me and my fellow citizens as brain-dead and not
caring about what you idiots do. We are watching what you are doing
and we are getting increasingly fed up with all of you.
I also want you to know that I personally find just about everything
you do and say to be offensive to every one of my sensibilities. I
promise you that I will work tirelessly to see that you do not get a
chance to spend two terms destroying my beautiful country.
Sincerely,
Every real American

Re-install Win 7.
I started re-installing Win 7 Friday night, September 13, 2013, at around 1800 hours. The old installation was an upgrade from XP, and lasted almost two years. It worked one day, and the next it was trashed. Would not repair, due to a missing file. I ordered an OEM version and it arrived Wednesday. It was installed on a clean hard drive, and after installation I downloaded some utility programs, and anti virus. I installed Firefox as I don't trust IE. Finished up around 2100 hours, and decided to go ahead and install Linux Mint 14 alongside Win 7. It installed in about 12 minutes and once again I installed some of my favorite programs, and finished up around 2200 hours. I forgot to mention that Linux is my main operating system, windows is for games only. Well, I just got shut down, by windows, for updates. Thank goodness Google saves periodically. Just another example of a poor operating system. Anyway, Saturday morning around 0930 hours, I decided to check windows and run a program called Advanced System Care. The program started and all of a sudden windows shuts down. I restart the computer, select windows, and it fails to boot. I try one time with the same results. I put in the win 7 disk and run repair, and when it finishes I restart windows and it boots up this time. This system has been installed a little over 12 hours, and already has to be repaired. This is completely unacceptable. In my opinion windows is the MOST useless fragment of fecal material on the face of planet Earth. Thanks to Windows 98, I tried out Linux back in 2001, and as it got easier to use I found myself using it more and more for my real work, and only using windows for games. I mean lets face it windows plays a mean game of solitaire. I do a lot of video processing and I need a reliable efficient machine. I can't trust windows to this task. My machine is home built. I am using an MSI motherboard, AMD 8120, 8 core processor, Nvidia one gig video card, 8 gig DDR3 memory, 500 gig Seagate HD. I did have a 128 gig SSD, but it got to where it didn't want to boot. In the event I continue to have problems with win 7, I will remove the partition and destroy the installation disk. Life is too short to put with useless crap like windows.

AMD FX series, 8 core processors.
I recently replaced one of my computers with an AMD 640 quad core processor, MSI 760GM E51 motherboard, 600 watt power supply, 16 gig DDR3, Nvidia 8400 video board, and a 1.5 TB hard drive. So, I got my income tax refund and decided to replace my oldest computer. Went over to our local Fry's, and selected an MSI 760 P23 mobo, 600 watt power supply, Antec window box, and 8 gig DDR3. Was looking at the processors and noticed two at the top. I asked the clerk what they were. He told me and I selected the AMD FX 8120, 8 core processor, and a Samsung, 128gig SSD. Installed Win 7, 64 bit, and Peppermint2 Linux, 64 bit. Linux boots up in under 15 seconds, to a usable desktop, and that includes logging in with user name and password. Win 7 takes about 25 seconds. But you really notice the speed when installing software. I added a Seagate 500 gig SATA HD for backup.

Blaming Bush.
The day the Democrats took over was not January 22nd 2009, it was actually January 3rd 2007, the day the Democrats took over the House of Representatives and the Senate, at the very start of the 110th Congress. The Democratic Party controlled a majority in both chambers for the first time since the end of the 103rd Congress in 1995.For those who are listening to the liberals propagating the fallacy that everything is "Bush's Fault", think about this: , the day the Democrats took over the Senate and the Congress: JANUARY 3, 2007.
The DOW Jones closed at 12,621.77
The GDP for the previous quarter was 3.5%
The Unemployment rate was 4.6%
George Bush's Economic policies SET A RECORD of 52 STRAIGHT MONTHS of JOB CREATION!
Remember that day...
January 3rd, 2007 was the day that Barney Frank took over the House Financial Services Committee and Chris Dodd took over the Senate Banking Committee.
The economic meltdown that happened 15 months later was in what part of the economy?
BANKING AND FINANCIAL SERVICES!
THANK YOU DEMOCRATS (especially
Barney ) for taking us from 13,000 DOW, 3.5 GDP and 4.6% Unemployment...to this CRISIS by (among MANY other things) dumping 5-6 TRILLION Dollars of toxic loans on the economy from YOUR Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac FIASCOES!
(BTW: Bush asked Congress 17 times to stop Fannie & Freddie - starting in 2001 because it was financially risky for the US economy). Barney blocked it and called it a "Chicken Little Philosophy" (and the sky did fall!)
And who took the THIRD highest pay-off from Fannie Mae AND Freddie Mac? OBAMA!
And who fought against reform of Fannie and Freddie?
OBAMA and the Democrat Congress, especially BARNEY!!!!
So when someone tries to blame Bush...
REMEMBER JANUARY 3rd, 2007....THE DAY THE DEMOCRATS TOOK OVER!"
Bush may have been in the car but the Democrats were in charge of the gas pedal and steering wheel they were driving the economy into the ditch.
Budgets do not come from the White House. They come from Congress and the party that controlled Congress in January 2007 was the Democratic Party.
Furthermore, the Democrats controlled the budget process for 2008 & 2009 as well as 2010 & 2011.
In that first year, they had to contend with George Bush, which caused them to compromise on spending, when Bush somewhat belatedly got tough on spending increases.
From 2007 on, Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid bypassed George Bush entirely, passing continuing resolutions to keep government running until Barack Obama could take office. At that time, they passed a massive omnibus spending bill to complete the 2009 budget.
And where was Barack Obama during this time? He was a member of that very Congress that passed all of these massive spending bills, and he signed the omnibus bill as President to complete 2009. Let's remember what the deficits looked like during that period:
If the Democrats inherited any deficit, it was the 2007 deficit, the last of the Republican budgets. That deficit was the lowest in five years, and the fourth straight decline in deficit spending. After that, Democrats in Congress took control of spending, and that includes Barack Obama, who voted for the budgets.
If Obama inherited anything, he inherited it from himself.
In a nutshell, what Obama is saying is "I inherited a deficit that I voted for,
And then I voted to expand that deficit four-fold since January 20th."
"The problems we face today exist because the people who work for a living are outnumbered by those who vote for a living."
LET THE TRUTH BE KNOWN!

Second coming.
In Matthew 24, the disciples asked Jesus "What will be the sign of His Coming , and of the end of the age?".... 3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, "Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?" 4 ¶ And Jesus answered and said to them: "Take heed that no one deceives you. 5 "For many will come in My name, saying, `I am the Christ,' and will deceive many. 6 "And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 "For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. 8 "All these are the beginning of sorrows. 9 "Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name's sake. 10 "And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. 11 "Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 12 "And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. 13 "But he who endures to the end shall be saved. 14 "And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come. (Matthew 24:3-14 NKJV) Then Jesus gave the one unmistakeable sign of His coming by referring to the prophet Daniel. No one can understand this sign without understanding Daniel. This sign, involving the rebuilt temple, occurs 3 1/2 years before the return of Jesus Christ:... 15 "Therefore when you see the `abomination of desolation,' spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place"(The Holy of Holies of the soon to be rebuilt third temple on the temple mount) (whoever reads, let him understand), 16 "then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17 "Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house. 18 "And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes. 19 "But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! 20 "And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath. 21 "For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 "And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect's sake those days will be shortened. 23 "Then if anyone says to you, `Look, here is the Christ!' or `There!' do not believe it. 24 "For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 25 "See, I have told you beforehand. 26 "Therefore if they say to you, `Look, He is in the desert!' do not go out; or `Look, He is in the inner rooms!' do not believe it. 27 "For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. (Matthew 24:15-27 NKJV).... 29 "Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 "Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 "And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. 32 ¶ "Now learn this parable from the fig tree:(Israel-see Matt.21:1-19) When its branch (Jerusalem) has already become tender and puts forth leaves,(Jews still looking for their Messiah) you know that summer(the Kingdom) is near. 33 "So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near----at the doors! 34 "Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place. 35 "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away. (Matthew 24:29-35 NKJV) His Words have not only NOT passed away, but they have been translated into more languages, critically studied, and printed more than the words of any person!
Are we in the end times?
1. False teachers are proud. They are concerned for their own popularity. They are concerned for their own fame. They are concerned for their own notoriety. They are concerned for their own prestige. They’re concerned to see themselves and hear themselves in the public eye. They want large crowds, as it were, to bow down in great homage to them. They’re characterized by pride and they will do anything to gain the ground they need to gain for the welfare of their own personal ego, including any amount of compromise necessary.
2. Secondly, false teachers are characterized by selfishness. They tend to be self-centered. They are concerned for their own comfort. They are concerned for their own popularity. They are concerned for their own prosperity. In the end, it’s all about money, fame, and prestige and notoriety equals an increased bank account. They are in it for the money and the personal material benefits that they can gain as they endeavor to feed their selfish desires.
3. Thirdly, They are characterized by deception. They usually can weave a very sophisticated web of deception in their teaching because they tend to be articulate, if they’re going to be successful, and they endeavor to engage other people to aid them in their deceitful enterprise which gives it the, sort of, facade of credibility.
4. They’re not only proud and selfish and deceptive, but [fourthly] they’re irreverent. If there’s anything that sort of dominates in my thinking about false teachers, it is their irreverence. They have absolutely no regard for God. The fact that they would go against God, that they would elevate themselves the way they do, that they would pervert the truth indicates their utter irreverence. They have little, if any, regard for God, His Word, His truth, His glory, His honor…
5. Finally, they are spiritually destructive. They seek to use people; they seek to abuse people. They seek to lead people into error, which destroys them—into sin, which pollutes them.
So, as you look at false teachers with regard to the world, they are proud and they seek fame and popularity. With regard to themselves, they are self-centered, selfish, self-aggrandizing, self-gratifying. With regard to the nature of their ministry, they are dishonest and deceptive and lack integrity. With regard to God, they are utterly irreverent; in fact, they are blasphemous. And, with regard to the people that they influence, they are spiritually destructive. So, their relationship to the world, their relationship to the ministry, their relationship to themselves, their relationship to God, their relationship to their people all reflects the deviation of their hearts.

Mandriva 2011
I installed Mandriva 2011, 64 bit, on a 500 gig HD, using the entire disk. After the install I went into Configure your computer, I wanted to set up auto login, and since I am the only user it showed my name and the default window manager, KDE. I then proceeded to check my hardware. Opened browse and configure hardware.Clicked on video card, and nothing happened. It should have expanded and showed the card name and version. Clicked on each item listed and no response from any one of them. Figured I would try to download an Nvidia driver for my 8400 card. Clicked on graphical desktop, and the panel on the right stayed empty.Suspiciously, I started at the top of the list, and clicked Archiving, and nothing. The same happened with Books, Development, Games, Networking, Sciences, and System. So I went to the search bar, entered Sauerbraten, and it showed up, so I downloaded the game. went back to the desktop and clicked on Sauerbraten, and the computer rebooted.
Opened a terminal, su to root, opened Kwrite, went to Etc, X11, xorg.conf, opened the file and checked the video driver, and it still had the nouveau driver. Changed it to nvidia, saved it, rebooted, and got an error. Failed to load kernel module for display driver. Got out my PartedMagic disk, loaded it into memory, went back into xorg.conf, and changed the driver back to nouveau.
My first Linux distro was Mandrake 7.2, back in 2001. I used Mandrake/Mandriva until 2006 when I found PCLOS. I stayed with PCLOS until December 2009. at that time I tried Linux Mint 10, and that is now my main distro. I would not recommend Mandriva to anyone, at this time.
The specs on my system are: MSI 750GM E51, 64 bit mobo, 16 gig DDR3, AMD 640 quad core processor, Nvidia 8400, 512 meg video card 1.5 TB HD, on board ethernet port, and a Netgear 3100 wireless USB dongle.

Barack to blame.
Few Americans needed Standard & Poor to confirm the mismanagement of the United States government and its finances. The downgrading of American credit will raise interest rates on America’s huge debt and ultimately on all Americans. Popular polls say that most Americans blame Congress—but that’s too simplistic. As much as Barack Obama would like to shift that blame onto Congress, the fault lies squarely on the shoulders of President. It is first and foremost a leadership problem that is crippling America—and the leader is President Barack Obama—not the many members of Congress.
No matter how many speeches he makes, the conclusion is clear: Obama’s greatest failure is spending America into enormous deficits, and being clueless about how to get the economy to recover. His speeches, riddled with “I” and “We” are mostly serving to indict him for his failings. Appearing on TV more than any other sitting president, Barack Obama is constantly “explaining” why things aren’t working, when he should be working on what to do different and better.
Instead he is “campaigning,” which is the only thing he knows how to do reasonable well. But he can’t fix the economy; he has neither the experience nor the know how to do it. His failed, misguided policies have only exacerbated the size of his mistakes and shortcomings.
“I didn’t say ‘Change we can believe in tomorrow.,.’ I didn’t say, ‘Change we can believe in next week…’ “We knew this was going to take time.” —Barack Obama, Aug. 4, 2011.
Obama has surrounded himself with academics, theoreticians and politicians and all of their solutions are wrong, flawed and ineffective. Don’t take my word for it. Look at the evidence. Nobody in his inner circle has meaningful business experience. He not only doesn’t understand business, he dislikes businesses; they are only useful as a way to collect taxes to redistribute.
For Barack Obama’s first 18 months, and occasionally even today, he and his loyalists try to place the lion’s share of the blame for America’s problems with George W. Bush. There is little doubt that Bush erred seriously on several counts: he initiated two expensive wars and then saw the Iraq war mismanaged for at least 2-3 years.
Then Bush failed, along with the (then) GOP led Congress to rein in spending to compensate for the cost of these wars. Finally, he reduced tax rates and created the Medicare prescription drug program (which turned out to work better and cost far less than was feared). Coincidentally, the much-maligned TARP initiated by Bush actually staved off a financial collapse and is largely being paid back by the banks and insurance companies involved. In perhaps his greatest mistake, Bush failed to veto a single spending bill sent to him by Congress.
Bush’s mistakes were clearly serious errors, but they pale in comparison with Obama’s failures since he took office. The Democratically controlled Congress was complicit with Obama’s failures. They have not submitted, and Obama has not submitted a realistic budget for the country in over 800 days—a clear failure to meet their responsibilities. (Exception: Obama’s irresponsible Feb. budget, which was voted down 97-0 by a Democratically controlled Senate.)
To chronicle Obama’s failures and his shortcomings is impossible within the length of a simple blog post. A few of them are most notable. Obama aided and abetted by Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid rammed the new health care legislation down the throat of America—and Obamacare was created. Parts of it are well-intentioned, but much of it is feared by Americans and especially small businesses. Arguably some of Obama’s greatest damage to the economy has been done by his appointees in the EPA, NLRB, CPSC, et. al., and the Justice Department. American business is oppressed by regulation. Sadly, Obama barely realizes this.
Next came the $840 billion “stimulus” package, (mostly pork and patronage), which worked poorly or not at all—unless you consider creating jobs at $275,000 each to be a good solution. Not enough “shovel-ready” projects were really “shovel-ready” Obama admitted recently, chuckling awkwardly at his naiveté. Obama and his experts (now mostly gone back to finance or academia) predicted a drop of unemployment to under 8% when the number of jobless went the other way—upward. Now, more Americans have been out of work, for longer, than any time in the past half-century.
Obamacare not only violated many of his eloquent campaign promises; e.g., Taxes on Americans earning less than $200/$250,000 per year will no increase one penny—except for the new Obamacare tax to 3.8% applied to investment income—which will hit millions of Americans. When faced with his party’s impending losses in 2008 elections, Obama dispatched Rahm Emmanuel to attempt buying-off candidates in the 2008 primaries with a promise of high-level jobs, a legally questionable practice at best, and unethical one at worst.
During Obama’s term in office the deficit has grown astronomically as he continues, even to this day, to insist on more spending and more taxes (especially those on “millionaires and billionaires” a category that most Americans earning $200-250,000 per year hardly imagine including them.)
Those who point to his achievements name “bailing out” GM & Chrysler—but many experts feel that was done by using executive power for further illegal actions, denying legal bondholders their rightful returns. There is also a strong belief that ordinary bankruptcy could well have accomplished the same result at a cost of almost $20 billion less of taxpayers’ money. But then spending too much of taxpayers money has never bothered this White House.
To make Obamacare’s outrageous financial claims, Obama & his Democratic Congressional minions desperately needed to cut its cost. Thus, buried in the 2000+-page bill, Obama and his accomplices Reid and Pelosi cut $500 billion out of Medicare. Now he pretends to worry about seniors while ignoring Medicare’s impending insolvency. After all, even if Obama could win a second term, he will be gone before Medicare fails, and be able to blame it on his successor.
Barack Obama was going to close Gitmo—until he realized that it was as unrealistic as much of his campaign rhetoric. Obama has violated the law, which requires the president to act within 15 days after the Medicare commission advises him of a financing problem. His Democratic allies gave him a waiver in his first year, but this year—he simply ignored the law.
Obama followed Bush’s foreign policy and even left most Bush appointees in charge, until recently. Obama’s vanquished primary opponent Hillary Clinton has precluded him from making as big a debacle of foreign policy as he has on domestic policy. He tried, early in his career, kowtowing to foreign dictators and despots, apologizing for America instead of protecting and defending it.
The ultimate failure of President Barack Obama is that he is unable or unwilling to lead; to define anything more than vague generalities as a solution to America’s daunting problems. Even his own allies in the GAO state, “we can’t value a speech.” In his desperation to run for reelection, Obama continues to abdicate his responsibilities. The debt ceiling was a showcase of his failings as he periodically jumped in and out of negotiations until he literally neutralized himself.
The president made himself an outsider in the decision, even as he tried to sound like a voice of reason, making speech after speech, saying less in each successive one. Senator Harry Reid and House Speaker John Boehner finally fought through massive partisan problems to reach a compromise agreement—but it was clearly too little, too late. Kicking the hard work down to a twelve person “super-committee” was not enough to settle financial markets.
While Barack Obama campaigned, making still more speeches at his 50th birthday celebrations, the Wall Street voted with its money and the Dow-Jones average dropped over 500 points and the S. & P. dropped even more—5%+. 117,000 jobs created in July don’t even approach the number needed to offset new entries to the workforce. The drop in unemployment from 9.2% to 9.1% signals more unemployed Americans giving up, not more of them being hired.
Happy Birthday Mr. President. You have accomplished something no other president has done. You’ve spent America into a hole that will take a decade to fix, and kept more Americans out of work longer than anyone in recent history, and you’ve accomplished all this in record time, only 2-1/2 years. Who knows how much harm you can do given still more time.
No matter how many speeches he makes, the conclusion is clear: Obama’s greatest failure is spending America into enormous deficits, and being clueless about how to get the economy to recover. His speeches, riddled with “I” and “We” are mostly serving to indict him for his failings.

Entitlements?
Entitlement my ass, I paid cash for my
social security insurance!!!! Just because
they borrowed the money, doesn't make my
benefits some kind of charity or handout!!
Congressional benefits, a.k.a. Free
healthcare, outrageous retirement
packages, 67 paid holidays, three weeks
paid vacation, unlimited paid sick days,
now that's welfare, and they have the
nerve to call my retirement entitlements
!!.....scroll down.....
What the HELL's wrong??
WAKE UP AMERICA !!!!
Tuesday's Daily Bulletin paper, ran two
articles on the front page side by side :
1- California 's 20 Billion Dollar Budget Deficit
2- The California Supreme Court ruling that ILLEGALS can attend college and get
benefits.
Why don't they just deport them when they arrive to register?
3- Last year they ran an article on the
yearly costs to California Taxpayers from
Illegals using Hospital Emergency Rooms
for their general health care -
At just one hospital the cost to taxpayers totaled over 25 million a year.
Someone please tell me what the HELL's wrong with all the people that run this country!!!!!!
We're "broke" & can't help our own Seniors, Veterans, Orphans, Homeless etc.,???????????
In the last months we have provided aid to Haiti , Chile , and Turkey . And now Pakistan ... Home of bin Laden.
Literally, BILLIONS of DOLLARS!!!
Our retired seniors living on a 'fixed income' receive no aid nor do they get any breaks while our government and religious organizations pour Hundreds of Billions of $$$$$$'s and Tons of Food to Foreign Countries!
They call Social Security and Medicare an entitlement even though most of us have been paying for it all our working lives and now when its time for us to collect, the government is running out of money.
Why did the government borrow from it in the first place?
We have hundreds of adoptable children who are shoved aside to make room for the adoption of foreign orphans.
AMERICA: a country where we have homeless without shelter, children going to bed hungry, elderly going without 'needed' meds, and mentally ill without treatment, etc., etc.
YET................... They have a 'Benefit' for the people of Haiti on 12 TV stations, ships and planes lining up with food, water, tents clothes, bedding, doctors and medical supplies.
Imagine if the *GOVERNMENT* gave 'US' the same support they give to other countries.
Sad isn't it? Our Government is a JOKE
